Quick Recall wins Pleasant High School Science Bowl

Our Quick Recall team traveled to Pleasant High School for a science based quiz bowl competition. The team went undefeated on the day and were crowned champions, beating the hosts Pleasant in the finals. Participating were Jacob Gasmire, Abigail Wickham, Zach Wolfe, and Alex Simpkins. Congratulations to Coach Triplat & the entire team.

FFA Chapter - Teacher Appreciation Breakfast

Our FFA Chapter provided a teacher appreciation breakfast during a recent PD session. Thank you to Mrs. Seckel, Ms. Parrott, and all of the FFA members who helped out with the meal.

Goins Classes Affirmative Tu Projects

Spanish II presented their Affirmative tu (you) command projects with their partners this week. The groups gave instructions on how to make, for example, a peanut butter sandwich, and their classmates had to watch the presentation and translate the instructions back to English as they completed the assignments. The students had a great time on this project.

Mrs. Triplat's Classes in High Tunnels

Mrs. Triplat’s science classes have begun to plant their spring gardens in the RV Farm area, under the protective high tunnels.

Youth at the Booth

Students interested in being a volunteer poll worker for the next election should swing by the office and see Mr. Stout. This is for students who are 18, or will be 18, before the next election, and are registered to vote.

Unstoppables Baseball

Unstoppables Youth Sports is a great organization that works to make sports accessible for ALL!  This year we are continuing with the Marion team as well as other areas. Last year was our opening year in Marion and the exposure for our community was fantastic, and there were seven RV students involved. If interested, please see the flyer for contact information.

Cell Phones @ RVHS
Students will not be permitted to use their cell phones at all during the school day this year (7:30 AM - 2:50 PM). There are exceptions for special circumstances, such as documented medical or learning needs specific to each student, and those items will be handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the HS administrative team. Please contact Mr. Stout directly if you have any questions about our cell phone policy for the 2025-26 school year.

RV Weather/Critical Alerts
Should your family have anyone who is not listed on your students emergency contact list (grandparents, babysitters, etc.), but needs to receive text, call, and email alerts when we are delayed or canceled, plus other critical/weather-based updates from the district, we have a form they can complete to be added to our guest list.

Completing this form will not give them regular building updates or other notifications from groups, only weather/critical alerts.
The form can be found by clicking here.

Daily Announcements
We will continue to utilize daily announcements this year. Please click here to view our daily announcements

Attendance Procedures
Parents need to ensure that within five school days of each absence they are sending in a parent note, or some kind of documentation from an appointment, in order to remove the absent-unexcused designation on student absences. Students can drop these notes off in the main office. Absences that do not have a note after five days will remain as absent-unexcused.

Adding RV Sports Calendars to Your Calendars
Our director of Technology and Communication, Mr. Tad Douce, has put together a video to help parents and students interested in adding sports calendars to their own digital calendars. Please visit this link to watch a helpful tutorial on how to sync your team’s game schedule to your own digital calendar.
