Viking Bash and One-Hour Early Release this Friday
    • This Friday, August 19th, will be a one-hour early for the Viking Bash!  The festivities run from 4:30 – 6:00 pm at the River Valley High School Campus. (Between the Middle School and Tennis Courts) Please stop by for free grilled hot dogs & bratwurst, cheesy potatoes, fresh watermelon, and bottled water as we celebrate the start of a new school year! Buy some great Viking swag from local apparel vendors and cool off with a Kona Ice treat. Kids can play in the bouncy house, plus PreK-5th Grade students get a free football game ticket with a parent ticket purchase.
COVID update from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH)
    • Since contact tracing and case investigation has shifted to focus on high-risk environments, such as long-term care facilities and healthcare settings, ODH is no longer recommending the Mask to Stay, Test to Play quarantine alternative for schools. Instead, ODH recommends schools follow general isolation procedures from the CDC for confirmed cases. If students or staff feel sick or suspect they might have COVID-19, they should stay home and take a rapid test. If positive, students and staff should stay home from school for at least five days and longer if necessary until fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and symptoms are improving. Additionally, after isolation ends, students and staff should continue to take precautions as they resume normal activities by wearing a mask for five days (or after two negative tests 48 hours apart). Remember, if your student feels sick or you suspect they might have COVID-19, they should stay home and take a rapid test.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope to see you all at Viking Bash this Friday!
